Introduction,

Hello and welcome to my blog! :)

My name is Joanna, though I'm also known on social media as kerotsi. I am a 4c hair naturalista based in Melbourne, Australia.

I have become a passionate advocate for all things pertaining to natural hair. I have always had natural hair so my hair journey may be different from other natural ladies as I've never had a "big chop" or "transitioned". I started doing my own hair in the sixth grade till now, and rarely get my hair done by someone else since I'm so used to doing it myself.

I decided to start this blog to document my journey so I can keep myself on track and actually see progress (then I won't slack off lol). I'll post pictures of my hair progress, length checks, protective styles, pros and cons to this natural journey.

Hey lovelies! In my hair journey, I have noticed that my hair responds well when I keep my hands out of it. I have tried braids and twists with extensions but my favourite protective style is mini twists. But because mini twists are easy to install and take down, I always find myself unravelling one to check on the length, which is counterproductive. However, that is a subject of another blog post :) So, after doing some research, I decided to try mini braids just with my hair. My experience is probably somewhat similar to what other naturals have experienced so the pros and cons may tend to be the same. I have had them in for 5 weeks now and hope to keep them for longer. Product review: MoistureLover hair product line

Hey y'all, Hope you are keeping well :) As most naturals in Australia can testify, it's hard to find products suitable for our hair here. The big brand names are mostly limited to America and shipping is very expensive when one decides to buy these products. So I was pleased to know of a health-conscious hair care line based in Melbourne, Australia so of course I had to try the range. MoistureLover products are plant-based and the founder is a biotechnologist. This is how I used the products on a typical washday after having clarified my hair with a shampoo. The MoistureLover range Deep conditioner This product contains vitamin e, castor oil and wheat germ protein. As I identify with low porosity, I wore a plastic cap and a heated cap for 30mins to help the product penetrate my hair. Results:-.6 Months Protective Style Challenge

 Hey friend, Would you believe 6months have passed and the challenge has ended? Me neither!! It felt soo long but it also flew by!!  Would you also believe me when I tell you that I didn't do any length measurements before the challenge? Yep! So what was the point, you may ask. Well, I embarked on the challenge to give my hair some time to get healthy, not necessarily for the length. My edges needed some TLC also.  I enjoyed challenging myself to keep my hands out of my hair, using minimal products and find a protective style that I can always go for. I did medium braids, yarn locs, mini braids, mini twists, African threading, flat twists and loved the versatility and time I reclaimed during the challenge.  I also kept my regimen simple by shampooing, conditioning and using either mousse or cream as my styler.
